[CEO for One Month 2017] Soya's Journal - Week Two

[CEO for One Month 2017] Soya's Journal - Week Two

The Way to Work

Meeting Clients

That was my first client meeting, far from the city near Hong Kong International Airport.

Learning points

  • Although Hong Kong is small, working location still concerns job seekers, especially when the unemployment rate in Hong Kong is very low (3.2% in 2017).
  • Market information is incredibly important in order to identify problems and reasons behind them, so that we can come out with useful solutions to help our clients and find our candidates to best-fit jobs.
  • With good welfare system in Hong Kong, the leading HR solutions company can take an active role in encouraging people with no occupation to equip themselves and take up job vacancies.

Shadowing Project Team

Today I felt like not being CEO1Month but a newcomer as a consultant in the Project Team, which mainly managed the process of general staffing and recruitment projects.

Learning Points

  • We have great responsibility to fully understand clients’ requests for talents, ensure candidates’ quality before presenting to clients and maintain good relationships with candidates.
  • Their way to work showed me Adecco’s standard. We must conduct interviews with every single candidate, even a part-time one. This is our service standard.
  • Practical experience to attend an interview as an observer taught me more than reading 10 articles on interview skills about outfit, manner and ways of presentation.

Mid-month Evaluation

Half of my CEO journey has passed. Some friends saw from my social media channels and said that I seemed extremely busy, carrying out my own project, working on global challenges and going to different offices and sites every day. In fact, I enjoy living life to the full very much, so it is not a problem for me.

Being a leader/CEO, you are not ordered by anybody to do anything, so time management is of paramount importance. If you are self-disciplined with an appetite to success, you will always strive for the best in everything that you are engaged in.

This is another week. I’ll enjoy the rest of my journey and get the most out of these lessons. Please follow my FacebookInstagram or Twitter to see my updates. See you!
